Dearest Mother.

The way she purses her lips.
The sheer concentration.
Getting ready for a new day.

Time for rest after a long day.
Pondering the outcome of what might become of the next day.
The slight smile that pulls at the corners of her mouth.

An appearance worthy of the public.
Ready to work, see others, and live another day.
The lipstick, the mascara, the eyeliner, the eye shadow are all
beautiful.

Her blue-green eyes.
The way they laugh, smile, cry, darken.
They are the eyes of a mother, ready to help, and pick one up.
They've seen the world and are ready to pass it along
to the next generation.

Glass and Farfalle.

 Reflections are tricky things.
They are exactly the same image, but flipped.
An allusion created by a trick of light and a clear surface.
Watch as the glass streams through and lights up the granite.

Farfalle.

And as the line divides them all, one rises above them all.
That small point in time, as things start to get clearer.
When a leader emerges to guide us.

Photogram/Margotohp.

Dark rooms with bright spotlights.
A stage set up for a story.
The way images invisibly transfer to paper
is mind-blowing.
Holding objects to the paper, blocks the light.
The actors can't create their own shadow.
And as the spotlight dims, so do the beatiful shadows they've created.

Atrium/Muirta.

The outside world is hidden behind two inch thick glass.
You never know what you're going to get.
Spend some time out there, but only an exact amount.
Breathe in the fresh air, feel your lungs expand.
Watch as a picture unfolds.

Pinhole/Elohnip.

The very beginning is never clear and always blurry.
Things don't always appear as they should.
Sometimes you need to reverse the situation to see it
clearly.
